Venture: of Heroes and Monsters, Sneak Preview #4

In our last preview we talked about minibosses. If you missed it go to read it here!
In this upcoming expansion you will get also more powerful equipment and spells.
You will get more weapons, armors and magical items, some of them are, of course, suited for the newest hero, the ranger (such as the longbow or the twin daggers).
Among the new weapons, the Greataxe stands up for its ability to strike two opponents which, in the hands of the barbarian, becomes a true nightmare for the monsters. Likewise the full plate armor worn by the fighter will make him a true armored tank.
Among the new magical items the boots of jumping will allow your hero to “jump” over most of the furniture and monsters, which is a very cool feature and will help to break some “jammed” situations during long melee combats.
We have not forgotten other classes providing them with twin daggers, rings of power, leather armors and more.
By popular demand we have also added area spells, which allow the wizard to hit more than two monsters in a given area. Fireball and Lightning bolt are truly devastating magic, however they are rare spells and cannot be taken as starting spells, you must be lucky enough to find one of them in a chest (on the other hand the Boss had plenty of time for searching in his dungeon... so heroes have been warned).
Speaking of spells, we have also added some “utility” spells that will prove useful for both the thief and the wizard, such as detect magical traps spell or knock spell.
Improving the wizard personal defense is now possible through Mage Armor, the sole drawback is that this spell remains active as long it remains in your spells discard pile, occupying a spell “slot”
Two new kind of expendable have also been added: the ammunitions and the scrolls. Ammunition are arrows or other kind of ammo that can be “loaded” on hero’s character sheet and then fired each time a ranged attack is made.
Scrolls are an interesting addition because they allows any character to cast spells that otherwise they couldn’t cast (for example Magic Missile), although if they are cast by the appropriate class they will prove more useful.
Next preview will be about new furniture and Event cards, don’t miss it!
